How to whiten skin – Skin whitening tips

Some whitening skin products may be a really bad option if you want to know how to whiten skin without fear of complications such as discolouration, multiple colours and exposure of the veins and inner cells. Surprised? Yes it can be as worst as that and even more worst (if there is a word like that) if you have an injury, it won’t only take way longer than normal to heal, but will also leave a disgusting scar that may go a long way to lower your self esteem.

So Honey, if you want to bleach or lighten your skin (I think that is the right word) then why not do right and safely by using all natural products that contains none of those harmful chemicals that is contained in skin lightening products. Now, don’t get me wrong, am not saying there are no good skin lightening products out there, but sometimes, there are usually  hard to find, in the midst of thousands of skin lightening products, it may be difficult to pick point the good one that will be just good for your skin.

What am i trying to say here? I will show you how to whiten skin with natural products from your home… Simple right? Yes… Let’s go there.

How to whiten skin naturally

There are several products that you can use to whiten your skin ranging from simple vegetables and fruits in the garden to your over-the -shelf kitchen products. These products are;

  1. Aloe Vera

Did you see it coming? I guess you did. Aloe Vera is one of my favourite home remedies product because of its versatile nature. Aloe Vera its used for a wide variety of home remedies such as Pimples, Eczema etc. Here, we won’t be using this aloe vera for any of those but to whiten skin, sounds great right? Aloe vera is known to alleviate hyper-pigmentation and restore skin colour. Uneven tone is mostly caused by hyper-pigmentation which makes one’s skin not too pleasant to look at.

Directions for use:

  • Pick a fresh aloe vera leaf wash clean and put in a clean bowl.
  • Wash yourself
  • Cut open the aloe vera leaf and scrap out the colourless gel (you can use gloves if you don’t want to leave your fingers tasting bitter).
  • Evenly rub the gel on your skin and leave to dry for about 30 minutes.
  • Wash off with clean water and pat dry.

Repeat this process daily for 3 weeks and for a lasting result, after the 3 weeks, repeat this process once weekly for an even better skin tone.


2. Honey

Honey is known to possess anti-bacterial properties which helps fight dead skin cells, and as a moisturizer, it moisturizes the skin leaving it soft and supple. Many people mix honey in their cream (am not telling you to do that) to evenly lighten their skin.

Directions for use:

  • Get an original honey (you won’t want to rub sugar all over your body)
  • Wash yourself clean and apply the honey evenly on the part you want to lighten.
  • Leave it on your skin for some minutes.
  • Wash it off and pat dry.


3. Yogurt

Yogurt is gotten from milk and contains lactic acid that helps whiten skin. It is suitable for all skin types and can be bought over the counter. In this case, plain yogurt is recommended.

Directions for use:

  • Rub the yogurt evenly on your skin and leave to dry for about 30 minutes.
  • Wash it off with lukewarm water
  • Pat dry.

4. Lemon

Lemon juice is a natural whitening agent due to its acidity content that helps lighten skin. It has anti-oxidants that are great for complexion and the high amount of vitamin C in it encourages new cell growth.

Directions for use:

  • Dip a cotton ball in a lemon juice and apply it gently on the affected areas.
  • You can also apply a cut lemon directly on your skin with circular movements.
  • Allow to stay for an hour then wash off with water and pat dry.

5. Papaya

How to whiten skin won’t be completed if i didn’t mention papaya. I personally love the attention this fruit gives to the skin. Papaya is mostly used on skin lightening products and its believe to contain natural skin bleaching properties.

Directions for use:

  • Include papaya in you daily fruit intake, this will cleanse your skin and cause any dark patches to fade.
  • Rub the inside of Papaya on your skin and leave to dry, wash off with clean water and pat dry. Do this daily for better results.
